Areas of Responsibility

These PP&D departments effectively work with the entire campus community - the five executive areas (President’s Office, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Administration & Finance, Advancement), the student community, the faculty and the broader community (non-affiliate residential occupants). Beyond the main campus, PP&D also supports initiatives and operations at the Downtown Campus and the Romberg Tiburon Center.

Capital Planning, Design and Construction

Capital Planning, Design & Construction (CPDC) oversees all physical planning, design, and construction activities for the campus, including  major/minor capital, capital renewal, and deferred maintenance projects for state and non-state facilities. CPDC is mandated to enforce building, life-safety, and accessibility codes; provide planning and construction approval; and issue building permits for all projects on campus.

Beginning in January 2013, CPDC has added responsibility for alignment of campus wide changes to space for academic and administrative programs. An important focus is to ensure program continuity during periods of change, renovation, or construction of new facilities, or other campus-wide impacts.
